Shade Shifting Gradient Cakes are available ready-to-ship on Traveler Sock (4-ply fingering weight 75% Superwash Merino, 15% Nylon, 10% Tencel) in 450 and 600 yard cakes. For more yarn and yardage options see custom yardage gradients dyed to order.
Shade Shifting Gradients are handpainted in an end-to-end ombre that shifts in color or depth of shade gracefully from one end of the skein to the other. They come in a center pull gradient cake but may also be knit or crocheted starting from the outside by removing the band. Due to the nature of hand dyed yarn, there may be some variation even between skeins of the same dye lot.
*Note for those who have purchased Socky Bombs in the past: Traveler Sock is the original Socky Bombs base yarn, however Panorama Fiber Arts Shade Shifting Gradients are dyed with an improved dye process that allows for blended shade transitions rather than color block banding. Sharper transitions may still occur when your project is very wide, not due to an abrupt change in shade in the yarn but because the larger amount of yarn used before returning to the same place above the previous row will put you farther along in the shade shift.
